Oversaw the acquisition, structuring and financing of the largest privately funded contaminated land clean-up in Australia.

The former Union Carbide site on the shores of Homebush Bay, Sydney, was acquired from the New South Wales Government for one dollar.

Simultaneously an $85 million self-funding remediation contract was entered into with Leighton subsidiary Thiess Environmental.

The result of the transaction was that with town planning approval for 1253 dwellings, the land was revalued at $160 million subject to satisfactory completion of the remediation works. Individual superlot sales were subsequently made at prices supporting the valuation.
